A few years ago, it went exclusively online as a weight-loss program, complete with online counseling and menu planning. Membership in the NutriSystem online community is free of charge, so anyone can log on and take advantage of their services. New members are assigned a personal weight-loss counselor, receive a menu plan, a catalog of products, a food diary, a weight chart, an online weekly newsletter, NutriBuddy groups, chat room support groups, and a virtual exercise instructor that allows you to store your own customized exercise program. You can purchase prepackaged entrees and snacks, but they are not mandatory for you to be enrolled in the program. However, Nutri/Systems menus incorporate its NuCruisine foods throughout, making it difficult to follow the plan without buying the products.
